full home renovation
This project was the ultimate test- how to plan my own dream home! It’s not easy to condense 15 years worth of design ideas into one house! The space I envisioned had to be inviting and comfortable, but also feel contemporary. Custom cabinetry was designed to accommodate storage needs and to enhance how we use the space. The layout of the house was tweaked to create wider openings into rooms, resulting in the feeling of an open-concept space, but still maintaining walls between rooms to define the areas and keep noise levels in check.
I wanted a casual, “no fuss” vibe– a space that everyone would feel comfortable and relaxed in. To create this feeling, I used a combination of clean-lines mixed with natural elements. White walls, paired with dark cabinetry and windows, creates sharp contrast and a contemporary feel. Natural looking materials like concrete Caesarstone, white oak floors, dark iron metals, and some textured marbles create a weathered, casual look. The end result is a space that is great for entertaining and every day life - materials are durable and easy to maintain. Throw in a little smoked mirror here and there for fun, and there you go!
